Well? Colt or filly?

Colt. Chestnut, with some bling. Very cute, very spunky little guy. :)

I'm interested in this as well. I have a choice of studs from the Darby Dan contest and I really think Nobiz is worth a gamble on. I would then be looking at either a Fappiano or Graustark line mare. Too bad I have no chance that Adele Dilschneider would lease me Summer Home.... since I've never owned a thoroughbred, this is exciting for us. Will look to lease a mare or do a foal share for a breed to race.

Baby Boi!

I'm excited to announce that my little guy finally arrived 05/31. He's got a nice size, and pretty nice looking colt.

The mare is doing well also. I have named him Will E. B. Strong. A good friend of mine says that when her husband gets mad at her!

I didn't breed her back this year, and I won't, but we'll see next year.

Texas is in trouble with racing dates and dollars, so I'm not very sure of my future right now.....anyways..thanks for all of the input and nice things said.

Twice as nice

Will E is the 2nd one I tried that with of my 4 foals this year. I have another filly her name is preaching sister, she's inbred to Thong.

I think we'll keep pushing and wait to see what happens.

I think that inbreeding can be a good thing, but a common definition of what the term means is necessary. I just want to throw out a few thoughts.
Lets look at inbreeding in humans. We call people who have a common ancestor in the 2nd remove 1st cousins and those who have a common ancestor in the 3rd remove 2nd cousins. Most genetist would agree that 1st cousins only have a small percent of genes in common while 2nd cousins have about the same number of genes in common as does the general population. These facts come from Dr. Phil.
Now to take advantage of a common ancestor in an inbreeding program, one must look for that ancestors desired traits and see if those traits are being passed down through the lines that you want to use.
Loving God, Loving People and Serving = Peace and Happiness
Try it you will like it.

Inbreeding femaleline

Hallo,

here is a list of Tailfemale breeding I've done for another forum.
Most of the mentioned Thoroughbred are German or Europeanbred Sires or dams.

As you will note several of them have even multiple line breeding

This is an old thread but wanted to ask if anyone has done a 3 X 3 on Weekend Surprise and if so, with any success? I am considering doing such a breeding for 2012 but am looking for some expert opinions

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but Stevie Wonderboy is 3 x 3 to her through the half brothers AP Indy on top and Summer Squall as the broodmare sire.

3 x 3 linebreeding to Weekend Suprise has produced several good horses, including champion Stevie Wonderboy and G3 winner Mad Flatter.

Stevie Wonderboy...that's right! I ended up picking up this girl by Tiger Ridge http://www.pedigreequery.com/daring+tiger and was thinking I might try breeding her to an A.P. Indy son here in FL. I am somewhat leaning towards Indy Wind but I have not seen him in the flesh yet. I plan on attending Journeymans stallion show in January. She's a nice girl, decent size and smoothe plus a nice big hip but her front legs leave a little to be desired...i.e. offset knees so I have to be careful with that.

Is Indy Wind a chestnut? I saw an Indy something or other at Belmont and might have some pictures somewhere of him. Let me go check what I have.

Yes, he's chestnut:) That'd be great if you had pictures:):) He doesn't look like a big horse in pictures...but it's so hard to judge off of one conformation pic.

Ok...now I was dinking around and saw that A.P. Warrior is on the ITBOA auction. Anyone seen him in person? He looks a bit more "built" than Indy Wind but my biggest concern is front legs and particularly knees.

If you really wanna get crazy, you can always send her to Stephen Got Even and get the Weekend Surprise inbreeding as well as inbreeding to Baroness Direct.
