Which mares?

Postby strideaway » Fri Jan 01, 2010 11:33 am

Still learning this nicking thing, so really need help.Which mares will cross the best on paper with our stallion Cheroot? Cheroot is a very big 17hh, well balanced horse, very good legs (is still sound , now jumping) . We bred 4 of our own mares all due in early march and he bred 2 in California before coming to B.C. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, C.

Your stallion comes from some pretty sound stock and I think he would nick well with in-bred or line-bred Mr prospector mares that usually can benefit from infision of soundness.

That would add to the Native Dancer line breeding but classic Native Bancer line breeding is Mr P over Northern dancer.

Hey, I thought the Canadian thing was "eh"!

I looked into your horse a bit - I should think you might find a few Peaks and Valleys daughers. I would also look for Halo lines.
