Postby brogers » Fri Nov 26, 2010 2:11 pm

Trying to get a list together of 20 good racemares that are still alive that were good racemares, but bad producers.

Dispute
Plenty of Light
Hidden Lake
Sharp Cat
Manistique

Any ideas???

I'd consider Ajina a disappointment, although she did have the winner of the Stymie.

Escena. Exotic Wood. Surfside. Farda Amiga. Heritage of Gold. Soaring Softly. Tout Charmant. Starine. Perfect Sting. Storm Song. Silverbulletday. Borgia.

oops sorry neither Lady's Secret or Winning Colors were good producers IMHO but are not alive.

I would then say most of the good "Tomisue's" could be considered poor producers.

She did have a minor stakes winner, but on the whole I'd agree. Watched a son of hers (by Giants Causeway) finish last at Suffolk this summer. Beautiful animal, couldn't outrun me.

I would include Educated Risk - she does have a couple minor blacktype horses, but most of hers were duds and the fillies haven't done much in the shed, either.

Is Eliza still alive? How about Astra?

Eliza has one of the top 2 year olds in Europe right now. He's multiple graded placed.

Whenever I see this posts about good racemares who are bad producers, I always wonder if they were bred to produce racehorses or sales horse. What stallions would you have bred the following to produce racehorses, Dispute , Plenty of Light, Hidden Lake, Sharp Cat, Manistique, Educated Risk, Astra, Golden Attraction, Caressing, Eliza, Escena, Surfside, Farda Amiga, Heritage of Gold, Soaring Softly, Tout Charmant, Starine, Perfect Sting, Storm Song, Silverbulletday, Borgia, Irish Linnet all considered failed broodmares.
