Halo x Lassie

Do you know what you get when you cross a Halo line stallion with Lassie?

You get a horse that will chew your arm off and then run for help!
Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

Sunday Silence did okay, both in the shed and on the track.
He produced some pretty fiery horses himself, but a lot of them could run! :!:

With the no steriod rule to keep one eating and training; you would think that more dominants personalities would be sought after. Just food for thought: a more 'aggressive' sire line such as Halos may produce stronger better minds to take the pressure of conditioning that today's racehorses endure.

FYI: will have to let you know how this works out when our 'lil Halos' are born this spring.

I don't think I've ever seen a horse go to the post in the Kentucky Derby with a chain on his gums except Sunday Silence.

Speed is nice, but all things being equal, I would choose a decent disposition over a would-be carnivore in a stallion every time.

I had a daughter of Jolie's Halo for awhile. She was the kindest horse ever. You could just take her and trail ride her. Never nipped, kicked or did anything nasty. This is one sample though. I can't speak for others. lol. Maybe being a granddaughter and having Pancho Villa as a broodmare sire had more to do with her tempermant. Heck, it could be her female line. Who knows?(of course, she did have a daughter that had quite the attitude but her colts were sweethearts)

A lot of ability, and get bars for the stall door. Not little screens, bars. A friend nearly lost her arm to a Halo son. She had to have surgery to get her arm and shoulder back together. He got her right up near the joint and shook her.
