Halo x Lassie
Do you know what you get when you cross a Halo line stallion with Lassie?
You get a horse that will chew your arm off and then run for help!

Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

Halo was wearing a muzzle when I saw him in Maryland.

With the no steriod rule to keep one eating and training; you would think that more dominants personalities would be sought after. Just food for thought: a more 'aggressive' sire line such as Halos may produce stronger better minds to take the pressure of conditioning that today's racehorses endure.
FYI: will have to let you know how this works out when our 'lil Halos' are born this spring.

He produced some pretty fiery horses himself, but a lot of them could run!
I don't think I've ever seen a horse go to the post in the Kentucky Derby with a chain on his gums except Sunday Silence.
Speed is nice, but all things being equal, I would choose a decent disposition over a would-be carnivore in a stallion every time.
I had a daughter of Jolie's Halo for awhile. She was the kindest horse ever. You could just take her and trail ride her. Never nipped, kicked or did anything nasty. This is one sample though. I can't speak for others. lol. Maybe being a granddaughter and having Pancho Villa as a broodmare sire had more to do with her tempermant. Heck, it could be her female line. Who knows?(of course, she did have a daughter that had quite the attitude but her colts were sweethearts)
have found that halo line is..... shall i say.. more intelligent...or maybe a "good mind"..horse wise.....yeah they like to nip..they all do....but so what...you want a runner or a pet ?
