New Mare: Found Her

Postby Jeff » Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:43 pm

http://www.pedigreequery.com/found+her

Was looking through horse adds last month and saw this mare advertised with the 3X3 Buckpasser breeding, got back into the TB business. She's a huge mare over 17 hands.

The colt pictured in the query is Prince Charmant by Roi Charmant.

on the true nick and e nick sites I get a A nick with Seattle Slew line stallions and a A+++ rating with Danzig line stallions.

I can breed her to a horse named Slewcious by Seattle Slew who lives practically next door very reasonably, or I can haul her down to some nice stallions further south, I specifically had in mind Bold Chieftain standing his first year at stud, or breeding her back to Roi Charmant, I think the colt from him is fantastic looking, or breed her to Game Plan by Danzig.

I'm quite enamored with Slewcious since his 1/2 brother The Factor recently set a ntr for 6 furlongs at the Santa Anita track.

Any comments would be appreciated.

And I'm no longer in Oregon, I'm a California Kid now.

The Fappiano line matches well with Giants Causeways as well. Lots of ways to go. I love the Buckpassers up close, Val de Lorne etc.

best

Thankyou Madelyn,

Guess she's appropriately named because I did find her:)

I love the buckpasser line, one of our best horses was buckpasser and War Deputy.
He was fast sprinter and a heart as big as a lion.He is doing jumpers now and excelling at that.

BOLD CHIEFTAIN is inbred to MY CHARMER, therefore, a foal by him from this mare would be a good example of a modified hybrid. Only its highly desirable inbreeding to SHENANIGANS precludes a complete outcross. In addition, the Seattle Slew sire crosses extremely well with Fappiano-line mares.

Nice mare. Looks like the pic was shot at Ellen Jackson's farm. Physically she looks like a great fit to Bold Chieftain.

If you decide on Bold Chieftain I would certainly recommend that you give his co-owner and trainer, Bill Morey, Jr, a call. Young, unproven horses are a dime a dozen in California and he may be smart enough to offer you a free season. Dont pay advertised price!

Looks like she'll be going to Popular http://www.pedigreequery.com/popular4

I really like the fact that he's 2 year old GS placed and 3 year old GSW.

He's produced several good 2 year old runners so far, pretty good statistics considering he stands privately and most of the runners are the stallion owners'.

Resulting foal will have just enough pedigree similarity to Havre De Grace
http://www.pedigreequery.com/havre+de+grace2 to hook me into this
breeding.

Jeff can't argue with Popular as your stallion choice. I really like what he is putting on the track. The Popular's can run..
