New mare

Postby brown011 » Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:47 pm

Just purchased a new mare, Kewpie the doll, with limited funds, living in IL, which stallion would be the best choice for her. Any help with Lord Avie nicking would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

You might take a look at Conte di Savoya or Pleasant Minstrel... your mare's family shows some affinity there.

Hi, brown. I updated as much as I could on your mare's pedigree. If you haven't learned the "female family" report utility, play with it and you'll be able to look at several generations of female ancestors back and several generations of their produce forward. I added several horses that won't likely show up until tomorrow, but your mare has already had some runners.

In general Lord Avie daughters have had good runners from several sire lines, including Blushing Groom, Dixieland Band, Icecapade, Mr. Prospector, Bold Ruckus, Irish Open, Known Fact. His sire Lord Gaylord is a more prolific broodmare sire through sons of Relaunch, NOrthern Dancer, Mr. Prospector, Key to the Mint, Private Account, Stop the Music.
