I'm starting to do research on her...
Any suggestions for breeding? Families/lines? Nicks?
I will be looking to breed to sell, and would like to aim for a little more stamina in the foal's stats (lower DI).
Here's her info... I just found out about her dam, and I am *thrilled*!! Her info wasn't on her database pedigree...
Opinions on her, overall...?

Breeding suggestions:
ALYDAR & DAMASCUS line stallions. I was seriously looking at her and her mother, who was also recently for sale, but I was also trying to get my fillies' immediate family. Timing was on YOUR side
But...take your time. Get to know her and her family...what worked and what didn't. It's a big decision and it not only costs a lot of money to bring a foal into the world, it costs a lot of money to give it a decent future. Breed for soundness as well as ability. If she is small like most Wild Again line offspring, that too will be a concern, both for her health as well as the size of the resulting foal. I wouldn't go for a stallion much over 16h. After reading all the recent stuff on uterine and rectal tears...man, I'm shakin' in my boots. Damned if you do...damned if you don't.
She's very young...enjoy her!
I would consider breeding to Duckhorn
Hi!
Duckhorn who stands in Pennsylvania for $2500 could make a nice cross line breeding on the great mare Numbered Account 4x4 and 5x5 Nearctic. Duckhorn was a great runner and from the Mr. Prospector sire line. I would also consider Rubiyat who has a nice runner out of an Eastern Echo mare as he seems to cross decent with Damascus bloodlines. Red Scamper in Massachussetts would present an interesting cross line breeding Icecapade 2x4 and Pocohontas 4x6 and Sword Dancer 5x5 and Hyperion 5x6x6. Another horse with close line breeding would be if you bred to Sundance Ridge but you would get Best Turn 3x4. If it was me I would go with Duckhorn.

Breeding suggestions:
ALYDAR & DAMASCUS line stallions. I was seriously looking at her and her mother, who was also recently for sale, but I was also trying to get my fillies' immediate family. Timing was on YOUR sideThe research I did on Wild Again mares showed an interesting affinity for Alydar & Damascus line/sons.
But...take your time. Get to know her and her family...what worked and what didn't. It's a big decision and it not only costs a lot of money to bring a foal into the world, it costs a lot of money to give it a decent future. Breed for soundness as well as ability. Wow, her mother was for sale? May I ask how much she was selling for? I was pleasantly surprised when I saw her stats! And happy that she comes from a line of producers... don't know if her female family is "average", "good" or "great" but I'll take it!
We're taking our time for sure... not going to think about it until next year at least. I'd like to get her settled in and happy here first! I definitely want to make a wise choice... and I want to get an expert opinion as well, if I can afford to...
I haven't officially sticked her, but my hubby measured me at the point her withers are and she has to be very close to 16H, if she isn't 16H... is that considered small? And yes, soundness is a concern for me as well as good conformation!
I appreciate your input, gives me a good place to start! And Keith, I'll be looking at the stallions you mentioned, too... thanks for the replies!!!
Hi Skeenan,
I think the Penn stallion Patton has an excellent pedigree match-up with your mare partly because both of his 2 Graded Stakes Winners, Patton's Victory and Yessirgeneralsir, are from Damascus line mares. And also because he got a SW named Five Star Account from a mare by Private Account, the Damascus line paternal grandsire of your mare.
More importantly though, your mare is by Personal Flag, a full brother to Personal Ensign, a mare that combined 2x2 with Patton's sire Lord At War in War Emblem, a Kentucky Derby and Preaknes Winner (note the very significant fact that the PQ Database has only 2 horses with Personal Ensign and Lord At War, One out of those Two winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, I'd say that's not bad at all..).
As War Emblem was 2x2 to Lord At War and Personal Ensign; the result of breeding Wild Bell to Patton would be 2x2 to Lord At War and Personal Ensign's full brother Personal Flag.
This is especially important as Personal Flag/Personal Ensign's 2nd dam Dorine shared Aristophanes, Fair Trial, and Congreve with Lord At War's dam Luna De Miel. This is an example of "Cluster Breeding", a very effective pattern to look for and attempt to effect in the Thoroughbred.
Thus We can say with a good degree of confidence that it was not coincidence that led to Personal Ensign and Lord At War having such high class and high profile success crossing with each other in War Emblem from very few examples. And we can also say that since Personal Flag has the same pedigree as his sister Personal Ensign, it is reasonable to conclude that if the Aristophanes/Fair Trial/Congreve cluster breeding was driving the success of War Emblem (which is highly likely), then Personal Flag should have success when crossed with Lord At War also.
So far, there are no Personal Flag/Lord At War crosses in the entire PQ database.
The sire of Patton (Lord At War) also nicked quite nicely with your mare's damsire Wild Again in Whiskey Wisdom, a very nice G2W who placed in the Breeder's Cup Classic (GI).
Also nothing wrong with crossing Lord At War with a background cross of Turn-To (the sire of Wild Bell's 2nd damsire Best Turn) as LAW and TT crossed 1x4 in the Queen Elizabeth Challenge Cup (GI) Winner La Gueriere.
