The Sept 22 issue of Blood Horse has as Very Interesting Piece by Jay Leimbach who is an accomplished author and expert in this field regarding "Green Genes" - the effect of aging on the genetic potency of stallions and mares.

I can't seem to get a link and I tried to repost the draft Jay posted on tbpedix but this site blocked it. It's weird. If you have a log in to BH search for the article entitled "Green Genes"
