Anything interesting in this pedigree?

Postby 3nutmeg » Tue Nov 26, 2019 7:58 pm

Can anyone tell me something interesting about this pedigree anywhere? He race trained, but bowed a tendon. He's Palomino, just wondering if there's anything interesting for breeding to race or performance. Not a great picture of him.

Guaranteed Gold sired a few mid-level show hunters and eventers. Ocala Slew probably could have jumped if he were trained for it. Red White n Gold is listed as competing in 3' jumping and 3rd level dressage. Low to mid-level hunter is probably a reasonable expectation for what this horse will produce based on his pedigree.

If you want a racehorse, whether on the flat or over fences, I would pass. You have to go four generations back to Storm Cat and Seattle Slew to get racing talent, and one more back to the mare Sangue to get top-class racing talent in a female line anywhere in this pedigree.

If the only reason you're interested in him is to possibly get a palomino foal...would you be happy if it came out plain bay with no white markings? He's palomino, not cremello, so you are not guaranteed to get a dilute foal.
