Obviously from a commercial standpoint, there is not much to recommend her. The real inquiry though is why you want to breed her. Is there something about the mare that you believe should be passed on? What are your goals?
As an example, a friend of mine had a very good midlevel claimer who almost never failed to get a check. In the end, she had won almost $200,000. But she had an atrocious page and she was clearly the class for almost 4 generations. The kicker was that she was phenominal mare--very correct and athletic--the kind you want to breed.
He lost her in a claim or he would have retired her himself. Last I heard she was going to Skimming this spring so someone obviously shared our opinion of her. But if you looked at the APR, you'd wonder what these people were smoking and the offspring will not be commercial to say the least.
I would have retired the mare if I had had the chance because she was just too good an individual not to have a crack at the breeding shed. Is this the situation with yours?
