A second option has come up.

A second choice of stallion for our mare has cropped up.

Mare is Cryin'n The Chapel and second stallion is Al Akbar. Any opinions on mating would be appreciated. Also which mating on paper would be better. Al Akbar or Pyrus.

Both stallions offer line-breeding to Hyperion, which I like, but Al Akbar offers more of it, and I'm partial to that sireline. But boy, Pyrus is one good-looking animal! I'm assuming the photo of him in the db here is accurately representative.

There are many others that post here who can give you a better analysis of the match-ups. What sparked my interest was your mare - she's from the same ff as one of the mare lines that my father-in-law started out w/ 60+ years ago. In Texas (via a 1920's era import from GB). :D Family 16-c certainly does get around. There's an active branch in South Am. too.

Thanks for that. Yes Pryus is a good looking boy isn't here. Think we will be going there. Though we may have a little more money that I first thought so might have to go back through what we can afford. :)

The 16c family has done very well here in NZ.
