Storm and a Half

Postby ef » Mon Apr 04, 2005 3:59 pm

Anyone know anything about Storm and a Half? On the surface, he looks like just another Storm Cat stud with a non-existent race record. However, he appears to be doing quite well regionally; his first-crop offspring swept BOTH the Oaklawn Park 3 year old statebred stakes yesterday, running 1-2 in the fillies stakes and 1-2-4 in the colts/geldings stakes. He is currently 10th on the National Second Crop Sires list, ahead of Successful Appeal and More Than Ready.

Anyone seen him? Could he be a nice one for Arkansas?

Hi, ef. Storm and a Half has the genetics to be a super-stallion, as his dam is dam of millionaire Lu Ravi, and second dam of Halfbridled. Time will tell if his get can make it in open company. Arkansas-bred company is pretty limited, so the current earnings are skewed by the timing of the Oaklawn meet. Storm has only had a few runners, and if bred to Arkansas mares, they are not likely to be blue-bloods like himself. I haven't seen him in person, have you? Maybe a diamond in the rough :?:

Blood Horse directory online lists him at McDowell Farm, Ark.

Nice to have a proven stakes producer son of Storm Cat nearby for cheap fee of $2000.

I was thinking of Storm Day and Storm Passage who are both standing in Louisiana.
