TM Opera O?

I have heard a rumor that TM Opera O died in March of 2002 which would have been his first season at stud. I can't find any information about him online beyond his retirement---does anyone here know what happened to him? Stallionregister.com lists a 2005 stud fee for him, but they have no links to a webiste for the stud where he stands in Japan, Mombetsu Stallion Station. If he did die, does anyone know the cause? Thanks! :-)

Is there a Mumtaz Begum here? I'm a longtime fan of The Tetrarch and Mumtaz Mahal, so my usual handle online is mumtaz. :-)
