Among Sham's outstanding BM sire record is Defensive Play, wnr of over $1.5 million and outstanding BM sire in his own right.

Foaled 01/29/87
Sold as Hip No. 223, 1988 Keeneland January Sale (Nelson Bunker Hunt Dispersal) for $35,000
Sent to Japan in 1989. Does anyone know what happened to the best runner sire line of SHAM. Does anyone know if he has progeny?

Perhaps you are refering to the following horse, who left no progeny:

LITTLE HELP (bay H 1988)

Lets see if we can find a tail-male lineage descendant from SHAM!

The 1999 Th. Times Stallion directory had 4 sons of Sham listed as standing at that time - Bottled Water (Mex), Creative Plan (Ire), French Stress (Saf), and Shamgo (In). I think the line through Shamgo, Sentinal Star may still have an in tact horse or two left in the US.

There's probably something out there somewhere.
Long live Sham!

Stumbling around today I came across this guy - Trailthefox - who is by Foxtrail, in the line of Sham. He was a graded winner - Cal bred and ran in the BC Juvenile. Anyone know what became of him?

thx

He's only 14 so conceivably he may be around somewhere, but who knows if he's intact as it is....

He isn't listed as being bred recently on the Jockey Club Registration website.

His former trainer Charles Carey is still training down in Tampa if anyone knows him to ask.
