Pretty fair description...he was a very game...very tough competitor. A true top-class, no nonsense racehorse...that took on all comers. Just look at who he raced against...and beat (including Affirmed Success...Val's Prince...King Cugat...Sumitas (Ger)...Sarafan...City Zip...Brahms...Noverre...Strut the Stage...With Anticipation etc etc.
Very impressive.

Florida turf stallions
What about Marco Bay, sire of Buzzard's Bay? Was he a turf horse, or his sire Copelan?

I am not sure that either of these stallions qualify as grass types but I personally like Eltish and West Acre as very good breed to race type stallions. If you do get to look at either of these stallions I would love to hear your thoughts on their conformation or any foals they may have on the ground.
best regards Brendan
I got a look at Eltish at the Live Oak Stud stallion show, though not as much as I would have liked. He was rangy compared to a lot of the other horses I have seen, definitely a staying type. He walked well and looked to have a very good shoulder and nice hip. Didn't get a good look at his lower leg conformation, unfortunately. I think I have a photo or two of him in my collection.

Wilf, I you want sons of Danehill then please come down here and remove about 20-30 of them! We've overdosed on them and there are still more to come!
Just as a matter of interest, is Hard Buck still standing in Florida?
