Wouldn't it be fun to get a good French import? Very old school. This could be neat. Does anybody know about him? Conformation or anything? Seen a runner of his?

Anabaa: Castleton-Lyons gets French import
"Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana"

Although standing in France still now, he was announced in a German information service:
http://www.stallions-online.de/public/s ... .php?id=70
Sired a very impressing miler (regarding confirmation): Martillo, who unfortunately failed to win a G1-event.

Very underated stallion.
This year alone in Oz he has sired the winners of Gr 1 sprint races and classic races.
Provided the winner of the AJC Derby (2400m) this year - Headturner - who is also one of the favourites for the Melbourne Cup.
His filly Virage de Fortune is a real flyer who won the Gr 1 Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley earlier this year. Last year as a 2yo she won the Gr 1 Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) in Queensland.
And just last week he sired the winner of the Gr 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick - Teranaba - who paid $118 on the TAB.
He stands for A$49,500 at one of the best nurseries in Oz, Widden Stud, and his book is full for 2006.

I found this info on the WWW regarding Anabaa and being termed a 'wobbler'.
........In clocking up his second career win, Teranaba became Anabaa?s eighth winner at the elite level and his 41st stakes winner.
Anabaa started life inauspiciously. He was a ?wobbler? who was given away to his trainer. Despite this, Anabaa developed into a brilliant sprinter at four, capturing six of seven starts including the Group I July Cup and the Prix Maurice de Gheest. Also amongst his wins where the Group 2 Prix du Gros Chene and the Group 3 Prix de Saint-Georges, Anabaa also finished second in France?s top sprint race the Group I Prix de l'Abbaye.
Anabaa has turned out to be a very successful sire in both Europe and Australia. He has 15 stakes winners from five Australian crops, including the multiple Group I winners Virage de Fortune and Yell. He has the AJC Australian Derby winner, Headturner, to his credit along with the group winners Taikun, French Bid, Danabaa and Tall Timbers.
In Europe Anabaa has defied his sprinting background to produce the Group I French Derby winner Anabaa Blue in his first crop, and he?s also sired other Group I winners Amonita, Rouvres, Anabaa Blue, Anabar.
In Australia, not including 2006 season yet, Anabaa has served 597 mares at a fertility of 89.9%.
Thanks for the info madelyn

The last post fits the story as he was bred by godolphin.
They gave him away to mr alec head as a yearling.
A little bit the same story towards Giant Causeway as a foal and as a yearling
Mr Alec Head gave him time, and a very patient handling which was the key in the progress.
During his stud seasons in France he was always, in the top ten on the listst so his progency are not harmed in any way.
But I think his progency will be best at the turf, who knows
If I have some spare time, I will look into the pacemakers from the time when he went to stud.
