Whywhywhy

Postby CA Michael » Mon Oct 16, 2006 12:10 pm

I just booked a mare of mine to him. His first foals sold well in September--I'm interested in what they looked like, especially front legs. Anyone take notice of them?

Michael-

I've seen a few very good looking individuals by Whywhywhy this year.

I don't have any specific memories of the front legs, but they've had great hips and excellent overall balance. For me, he has been one of the pleasant surprises of the first-year sires.

I talked to Gainesway about him

When I went to see him in September they thought his babies looked more like Mr Greeley than Whywhywhy. He is a very lightly built horse compared to Mr Greeley. His foals reported are correct with more build than Whywhywhy himself.

Don't want to bust your bubble (if you're like me you like your bubble intact) but I have heard that Whywhywhy's sale's figures were not correct. For example - high price foal was actually a buy-back and not a sale, etc.... Bottom line is though if you liked him with your mare, got a good deal and are happy then it is alright!

Which colt are you referring to? Saratoga?

I saw a $235,000 filly in Ocala in August. (Whywhywhy-First Class Act, by Ghazi). There were two good looking Whywhywhys down there.

I think clh is referring to a couple of the highest priced Whywhywhy's that went through Keeneland September. They were apparently buybacks to pump his numbers.

I also believe some of his weanlings were buy backs.
