I was looking at some horses on threads here where they were mentioned as being very correct and good looking or saying that they weren't but threw hard knocking offspring.
My basic question is, who has the best balance of conformation and pedigree that you've seen or heard of (currently at stud but hey mention oldie goldies for some trivia) and who perhaps throws offspring that turn out as good or better than their sire for whatever reason. I'd assume that means there's traits the stallion isn't passing on and we have some correct mares to thank but I won't jump to any conclusions.
Sub-question: Any stallion's get you've seen that consistently all look lousy as foals but by the time you check them out as yearlings you see some serious surgical correction on a grand scale? I'm of the opinion that stuff should really be disclosed for the simple reason that breeding's a big industry and if you want a breeding prospect, much as when you buy a house, you outta be able to find out if the roof's been replaced recently or the foundation fixed so you know how nice the investment really is for the future (ok so I know that houses don't beget other houses). The horse could pass on bum traits you didn't even know it was born with right?
