He's retiring to Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in England. I'm curious to see how he's going to do because he's a rare out-cross.

Don't think he will be cheap, lovely German pedigree by the great Monsun. Let's ask Parlo, what he 'll think about the studfee?

Shirocco´s stud free will be £10,000 - (18700 US-$).

Quite low I think.

Sorry, I’ve some trouble with my pc and the internet-connection. Thank’s BD (N)!

10,000 GBP would be bargain. His outcross-ped is an asset, and we must compare sires of similar racing-class to him (f. e. Hurricane Run). I heard some rumours here of a stud-fee of 30,000 GBP (= 45,000 €).

Monsun was at 60,000 € this year and his fee is said to rise considerably next season. German-bred Tiger Hill is at around 25,000 GBP (some 37,000 €) at the Makhtoum’s studs after he had sired some (German) group-race-winners in his first 2 seasons at stud in Germany, where he was at 9,000 €.

So to me some 20 – 30 thousand GBP makes some sense in current surrounding to an unproven sire with some international racing-merit.

Nevertheless there will be an own-brother to Shirocco – Storm Trooper, got a 96 kg GAG-rating (official German handicap = 112 International classification), not just the class of Shirocco (124 IC), but probably much cheaper and the pedigree-fans might appreciate it.

Monsun will be at 120.000 € in 2007!

Storm Trooper is back in training in Germany, but still owned by a Scandinavian.

I have no clue about Scandinavian breeding, but Storm Trooper would be a great chance for them.

Wouldn't it be that his failure in the Arc cost his owners a lot of money?
But lucky for those who will send their mares to this class horse.

@Erins Isle: A "rhetoric" question?! He accepted an offer to keep the horse in Europe, has some nominations in the horse and the horse is offered at a reasonable price. So everybody should be lucky.
