Hi, I'm a "newby" to this chat forum, but very interested in your topic discussions.
I have a question for everbody... What are your opinions of Houston a Seattle Slew son and his sport horse off spring? I have seen his name a number of times being the sire or grand sire of several sport horses.

Seattle Slew is highly sought after in the bloodlines of sport horses. My gelding was by Metfield and he was schooled thru 4th level and competed in Preliminary level eventing. I know of several other Slew line sporthorses who do very well. Some hunter trainers I know specifically search for it in potential prospects.
I saw a son of Houston's a few years ago and was very impressed with him, Viv. Usually what impresses me in the flesh is a dressage type horse
This horse was being ridden by his owner and had all the right muscles in all the right places, plus a nice mind. I'd say yes to Houston as sporthorse sire. Nicely conformed with speed.

Welcome to the board
We stand a TB stallion that we had inspected/approved Canadian Sport Horse in 2006. He's by Soaking Smoking, and out of Romance On Ice. His name is Half Moon Romance. He's a solid 16.1 with lots of bone and substance. He's an outstanding mover, has a great jump and is a grand champion on the line. In 2006 he was Grand Champion TB stallion & Reserve Champion Canadian Sport Horse stallion at the prestegious Royal Winter Fair.
We're focussing on producing quality Sport Horses by him, but will be race mares as well.
