He started off hot with a nice book of mares and held SEVERAL KY Derby prospects and nice stakes winners in his first 3 year old crop.
However, lately he hasn't been so hot.........I believe he is currently overpriced as a stallion value.
I hope he picks back up to carry on the Runaway/Blushing Groom line as he is agreat outcross stallion.

Cherokee Run has a couple of exciting runners this year that we may hear more from soon. Zanjero (he’s number 23 in next week’s Derby Futures) is a promising 3YO who goes in the La Derby on Saturday. And the race Chelokee (bred like Yonaguska) won on Saturday at GP was simply amazing. In that race he was stopped, shuffled back, and had to re-rally to finally draw clear and win by ¾ of a length in 1:49 3/5. Two and a half hours later three horses hit the wire together in the Fountain of Youth in 1:49 flat. We may see Chelokee in the Florida Derby.
You could make the case – as Darley does in their ads – that we haven’t seen the best of the Cherokee Runs yet. The size of his book and the quality of the mares bred to him increased beginning in 2003. He was bred to an average of 125 mares from 2003 to 2005. The three years before that his book size averaged about 85. More importantly, two measures of the quality of his dams show significant improvement during that time. For the later three year period, the CI of his mares increased by 18% (an average of 2.46 for 2003-2005, vs. an average of 2.08 for the 2000-2002 period.) The CPI of his mares increased by 23% over these periods, 4.65 vs. 3.79.
