I have an extra season to him for this year only. One mare already conceived on first Feb cover; looking for a foal share, or discounted sale.

Im open. PM me if you have any interest.

The farm we stand my stallion at has an extremely nice colt by him at the farm, from a Northjet mare. He really holds your attention.

We'll be getting better pictures of him, but you can see him at http://www.azchesterfieldfarm.com/foals. The photo currently posted was when he was less than a week old. He looks a lot like Teton Forest, except he'll be bigger than his sire when grown. Hope this helps.

Michael-

We recently bred two of our KY mares to him. Had I only known earlier...

I'm getting conflicting opinions on him (commercially). I kind of like the grass on the bottom and dirt on the top. And, his half has done pretty well in NY.

Good luck with your share.

Isn't it hard to believe that this colt is standing at Spendthrift? That farm was once such a powerhouse in the industry! I thought, by now, Hughes would have subdivided it with condominiums.

ct and tbbreeder,

What types of foals have you seen by him, and what types of mares are they from? I've only seen a handful of them, and most are typey, not too big, with attractive heads. His weanlings and short yearlings have sold pretty well on the whole.

I bred a smallish maiden mare to him, but she has plenty of body and hip. She's from a very tough female family (she's a half sister to ADREAMISBORN), which in my mind is very important when breeding to a Storm Cat line stallion.

Have you found any temperament issues with your foals?

Michael -

Our foals are in the oven. We bred two different type mares to him. One was a large unrefined Alydeed mare and the other a smaller (no surprise there) Rahy. One is docile and the other fiery. I'll let you know in a little less than 10 months.

Michael,

Go to http://www.azchesterfieldfarm.com/foals2007.htm and take a look. He's the one on the far right of the first row. His dam is a Northjet mare. She's not huge, but she's a nice mare. Spendthrift laughed when they heard the farm bought her. Apparently they commented on people buying up older mares/cast offs. The laugh is on them, as her colt is the best Teton Forest I've seen so far. He's looks just like his dad, but he'll be taller.

"Forest" has been impressive since the day he was born and only becomes more so with time. He's got "CLASS" stamped all over him and he's got a competitive attitude. He's a handful (biter, but we're working on him) but he's otherwise got a good disposition, but he's full of himself. He's slated to go through the ATBA Mixed Sale next year and someone will be lucky to get him.

Thanks, Vicki, that is indeed a nice looking colt. Very typey. I hope you do well with him in November. Hopefully the Teton Forests will sell well at Keeneland in Sep.

Actually Mr Hughes just spent a ton of money faithfully restoring the old stallion barn that housed some of the great stallions you allude to back to its former glory. It looks fantastic as does the rest of the farm which has had a lot of re-fencing and improvements done to it.

Of course you wouldn't have posted the comment above if you actually had a clue what was going on out there.

All for three stallions, with 2007 stud fees of $3,000, $4,000, and $5,000?

No KY farms have been subdivided or sold to developers, I guess.
