Unbridled Energy vs No Armistice
I know these two are 3/4 brothers, but one is 10k the other is 3k and first starter was a winner. No Armistice is by Unbridled and his brother is by Unbridleds Song. NA was strictly sprints and UE won at over a mile. But why pay 7k more when you can get to his brother who is already proving himself?
hi Derby2004
Let's take a closer look at him...
...for starters, Unbridled Energy broke his maiden at TP going 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:18.89...hmmm. Is OUCH an appropriate description for that kind of time (at that distance)?
As a 3-yo, he won a G3 (at WO in Canada) going 1 1/16 in 1:46. Is that an OUCH or a DOUBLE OUCH time for a mile and a sixteenth, or what?
His best Rag number was a 6 1/4 (and that was in a losing effort no less). Is OUCH an appropriate choice of words again?
He's by Unbridled's Song...sire of young sires Buddha and Unbridled Time...does OUCH possibly fit again?
Arguably Unbridled's Song's most successful son at stud, Songandaprayer...is having difficulty getting a good horse that can win beyond 6 or 7 furlongs. Do I hear hmmm.
Unbridled Energy's dam is by Hold Your Peace...do I hear hmmm again?
What are his strengths? Well he is gray.

Does anyone remember that old, old TV commercial with the Indian walking along a highway and a car passes by and throws garbage out the window and the empty cups and plates land near the Indian and he starts crying? The theme was "Don't pollute."
I just thought of that old commercial out of the blue...don't ask me why.

I love this part from Crestwood's website concerning Unbridled Energy:

Consistent --- Won 4 of 8 Races!
Retired Sound!
Wow, now that is funny. He raced 8 times from age 2 to 4. He was not hurt but they decided to retire him. My kind of stallion.

Win Star attempted to unload this guy for quite some time.

hi Rok
Unbridled's Song has been standing for a significant stud fee for quite some time now...and his sons with runners (at least thus far) are arguably iffy (or worse) at best.
Even Songandaprayer, who arguably can get a handsome sales horse, seems to be defining himself as a sire that rarely gets much more than a sprinter.
Unbridled's Song might be marketed and spun as a TOP tier sire...but, I sense that confidence in and perception of him (as both a racehorse sire and sire-of-sires) are eroding.

hi Derby2004
Unbridled's Song? A top-tier broodmare sire? Maybe...but I have my doubts. I'll have to see a good sprinkling of some TOP quality runners (from his daughters) before I'll go that far.
The closer I look at him, the more he disappoints me.
Now if you had said Lemon Drop Kid will be a top-tier broodmare sire...I might have jumped on your bandwagon.

Actually, I think Unbridled's Song will be a very good commercial broodmare sire. They give size, a nice shoulder, and a good backend to foals. Thats the famous "three" in the ring.
Now Lemon Drop Kid... I have 2 Lemon Drop Kid fillies... the 3yo is now stakes-placed and the two year old wont start till probably next year. I LOVE him as a broodmare sire. He's really a good value at 20k.

Don't be so humble - you are not that great.
