I really wanted a yearling filly by him that was on offer in the Ocala sale in January. She was balanced with good bone - to my eye elegant yet athletic in appearance.
When she was withdrawn I went back to the barn to ask why. I was told that the owners felt that the way the sale was going she wouldn't bring what she was worth and that she would be back in another sale later in the year.
Frankly I was sufficiently taken with her to seriously consider breeding to Perfect Soul. His pedigree puts me in mind of both Storm Cat and General Assembly. As stated above when matched with appropriate mares I see no reason it wouldn't produce turf horses.

I've seen him and really like him. Attractive, well balanced, and his babies all seem to have a similar look to each other. Go to his page on Darby Dan's website and click on media. There're foals of 06 pics and yrlngs of 07 gallery. A lot of the same babies on both links, but a few diff. ones on the 07 gallery.

Didn't Perfect Soul have a full brother at stud somewhere in Canada for a couple of years? I do not remember the brother siring anything of merit.
I am also certain the band of mares that each saw would not compare. Perfect Soul has seen some wonderful mares and continues to see many elite individuals. I hope his babies take after him.

Not Impossible stood in Canada for a few years. He died about 3 years ago if I remember correctly. From a very small group of foals he has sired the stakes winner Not Bourbon.
The CI of Perfect Soul's 2007 foal crop is 3.21 - only Smarty and Speightstown are higher - a few of the many elite mares in his '08 book are Lemons Forever, Joiski's Star, Lady Shirl, Hold to Fashion, Bourbon Belle, and Silence Beauty.
