When stallions are listed by the Jockey Club as being bred in 2007 to mares in a certain state (in this case FL) but the stallions aren't listed in either the Blood-Horse or Thoroughbred Times stallion directories, where would one go for further information about them? Would contacting the Jockey Club directly be an option?
Thanks!

Re: Locating Stallions
Hi Patuxet,
The actual Stallion Register (Blood Horse) in the back of the book and Stalion Directory (Thoroughbred Times) towards the front of the book have alphabetical listings of stallions that should answer your question. It's possible that the stallion has moved but at least you can contact the last known farm where he was standing.
You might also try a state breeder's association (if one exists).
I'd imagine that you could also call the Jockey Club if that stallion had any live foal reports although I would think that they could be a year (or more) behind his current whereabouts.
If you'd wish, list the name of the stallion and I'll give you the information that I have.
Pete

Stallion Search
I use the Bloodhorse online search feature (google), and find it very reliable in regard to recent relocations of stallions. Also try Thefloridahorse.com (http://www.thefloridahorse.com/stallionregister/). The stallion directory also goes back a few years which is great for research.
It's possible that the stallion you are thinking of doesn't appear in any of the free stallion listings because the owner isn't interested in his whereabouts being known, for any number of reasons. I believe, but I could be wrong, that information you submit to the Jockey Club is confidential, and if so they will not give you contact information for the farm.
If you really want to track down where the stallion is standing, ask around the back stretch of the various Fl tracks, post requests for info with your contact info on the track notice boards, or ask online like you are doing here. Someone, somewhere, other than the farm owner/manager will have the info you want, and if you are persistent enough the owner/manager will get in touch with you to find out why you are so persistent.

Thanks for the replies/suggestions which yielded nothing. It was too late to contact the Jockey Club.
The stallions are Shanawi (1993) and Tadreeb (2002), both of which were sold at auction prior to last year's breeding season. The buyer of each is listed as Bruno Schickedanz, the name of a Canadian owner/breeder who I believe also has a farm in the Ocala area - perhaps called Rising Sun?
According to information on the Jockey Club site, in 2007 Shanawi was bred to 8 mares in FL and Tadreeb to 12.
Does anyone know how one could contact Herr Schickedanz and/or his FL farm?
Thanks!

Bruno & his brother Guztav Schickendanz are the Canadian breeders and own Schickendanz Farm in Ontario Canada. Guztav is the breeder of Langfuhr & Wando. If you run Schickendanz in Bloodhorse you will get a hit or two.

I guess, I stand corrected since you live in Ontario. Well I got the farm right at least.
