Hi new here but have been lurking and learning :D

We have a Matter Of Honor mare, Jilted Love (in the database) and we are trying to decide on who to choose this year. We recently purchased her, she's in foal to Old Forester and has had foals by Victory Gallop and Five Star Day. She herself is a winner of $60,748 lifetime.

We'd like to hear your thoughts on who we should and should not consider. Any and all help is appreciated. :D

I remember that mare. Very pretty. Now I can't remember where I know her from. Very nice. Good luck with your choice. Gone Fishin is available. Pm me if you want to discuss a great deal.

Is she gray?
I think Ken Albu had her at one time ,her barn name was jilly that's if it's the same horse. From what i can remember she was a good runner.Good luck with her.

Yes that's her. She is a lovely girl that my boss purchased at the Mixed Sale '07. She's known by Mama Love around the barn. :D

I've looked at Gone Fishin, good looking boy and I really like the fact he raced so long. I have always liked the Danzig lines. We have a few that are in the running, it is so difficult to narrow it down to one. He is on my short list :D

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

We were seriously considering Ciano Cat for our girls but then had a good look at Shelter. Bloodlines are amazing and he is stunning in person. Picture in the stallion book does not do him justice. The fact that he is close to us helped but talking to several trainers made up our minds as well. Everyone seems to like the Seeking the Gold lines, Pin Oak Stud also helped with the information of Shelter having blistering speed as a youngster before an injury sidelined him. Good luck with your dilema as we know its tough to decide. We are new at this so are learning every day.

You can keep track of her and when she foals on our site
http://www.stonehavenfarm.ca I can't wait until it's summer and she's all shed out to get a great picture of her. You'll be glad to know she is getting all the spoiling she can handle. :D

You are so right about taking time and really doing your homework, I have stats and pedigrees going around a mile a minute in my brain. Learning about and matching the warmblood mare was easy compared to this.

If you like Seeking The Gold take a look at a local stallion named Ingot.

He didn't do much at the track but his dam is a multi G-1 stakes winner of $864k and he'seeking the Gold

Thanks for the vote for Shelter "bentlers". If the start of the season is any indication alot of people like the Seeking the Gold bloodlines. Some very spectacular mares and some very surprising owners this year. It looks like it might be possible to break into the "old boys club". We shall see how the rest of the season shapes up. Huge improvement over the crap from last season. I think that Ontario has some spectacular stallions but do they look good when matched up with the mares? I myself am shipping 2 to the States to get what I want (at least on paper), I fed an awful lot of matings through the computer and could not come up with anything for those 2 until I started on the US stallions. Still not sure for one of them but have to make up my mind soon as she is due soon. I am not one to stick all my eggs in a basket by putting all my mares to my own stallion. If they are not a match they go elsewhere.
