Does anyone have any thoughts on this stallion? Has anyone seen him or used him?
He's exactly the type of outcross I want to use but I haven't heard a thing about him from breeders.

His first book of mare was limited...I know people who had mares rejected. I love any Blushing Groom/Runaway Groom sire, since nobody wants to give them the time of day. He is a good bubble sire to breed to, since he got a nice first and probably 2nd good book. But he won't be a top 10 sire any day. If you're breeding to race, you should get a really good deal and get yourself one running SOB 11 months from now.
too weird to live...too rare to die

I dont know if they were turning mares away. i do know that our mare halo my cat is due to have a foal by During in 3 weeks time and im quite curious to know how that foal will turn out. i live in the uk but went to visit During keeneland sept 2006. i really liked him. i wouldnt say he was flashy but hes very nicely put together. he has a nice shoulder and no obvious faults. perhaps he has become less fashionable following the untimely demise of Barbaro. lets hope nicanor or lentenor can put During back on the map again. but i certainly wouldnt put you off.

What were the criteria that had mares turned away or accepted to him?
It was in his first year when he covered 97 mares, my friend had a decent mare but was not accepted to During or Congaree in '06, ended up going elsewhere. I would hope that if they were that selective his fist crop should be pretty good.
I think Cherokee Run (by Runaway Groom) is doing pretty well for himself.
Aside from the obvious, there are not many that stick around. It's a line that I love to try and fit in, but it's tough when we look to sell first and sometimes are swayed to do whats not always right for the mare.
