Not to purchase, but I'm looking for a small (under 15.2) stallion near Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio/Illinois at stud.

Really prefer a refined sport pony type.

Can anyone think of such a stallion?

Hap. That describes him PERFECTLY - sport pony type. He was at Darby Dan last time I checked.

LOL... he is EXACTLY who i wanted to use ... but he isn't being stood anymore.

Now, I could always try to get to English Channel, but his book was full last year and I have no idea if I can even afford a reduced season.

The reason for all this is I have a new mare that is pretty small and I want her first foal to be little. No reason to breed her up as a maiden.

I'm a thousand miles outside your target area, but I've got a 14.2 hh TB who's been covering pony mares.

If Hap is healthy, why on earth would they not allow someone to pay to breed to him?

ETA: I'm asking in all seriousness as he is an accomplished racehorse with a breed to race pedigree/build. He was never going to be commercial but surely intriguing if one is looking to race.

Two small stallions in Pennsylvania are Smart Guy and Chips are Down, both of whom are around 15.2 hands.

Too bad you can't get over to PA for Tekken . He's pretty much a backyard stallion owned by a gal named Shirley Lojeski, sees a handful of mares a year and is under 15 hands. He also gets runners.
Pretty cool little dude.

Hap is still physically at Darby Dan. If you called them and inquired about breeding a mare to him, they may oblige.

how about cetawayo? he won over $1M on the turf, i believe he's relatively small, and stands in either md. or pa.

Funny you mention Cetewayo: just minutes ago, he had a 2yo. maiden winner at Penn National, sprinting in the SLOP.
Cetewayo's got an amazing pedigree, but looking at it, I wouldn't think "precocious, juvenile, dirt, sprinting", that's for sure!

awesome pedigree, great race record... .and he's 16.1. Too tall for my situation, unfortunately.
