Domestic Dispute

Postby Bohemia » Thu Dec 04, 2008 7:15 pm

I see on the Blood-Horse Stallion Register that Northview has dropped his fee from $7,500 to $3,500 for 2009. I tried looking this up on Northview's web site but it apparently has been hacked.

I received one of their advertising emails earlier this week or last and it showed him at:

DOMESTIC DISPUTE 2000, ch
Unbridled's Song-Majestical Moment, by Magesterial
2009 Stud Fee: $3,500 Live Foal

The Web site also had him listed at $3,500.

So it was hacked?

Absolutely horid 2 year old results.
Our mare was sent to him - she didn't catch. For now - I'm happy.

Well, he's done just as bad as Smarty Jones. None of Smarty's eight winners have won another race besides their maiden voyage. And five of them won outside the U.S. At least those who bred to Domestic Dispute aren't mourning the loss of a $100,000 stud fee.

Does DD have any excuses for his poor 2 yo showing? Like Maryland racing sucks or his foals won't run until 3 or ??

I liked this horse a lot and considered him for 2009 but it doesn't look good for the horse.

Well, he just had another MSW winner today at Hollywood Park, so maybe his 2-year-olds are just taking time getting going. Maybe he'll be another Sky Mesa.

I own a tiny share in a 2YO filly by Domestic Dispute. She's had pretty good workouts, raced once so far...showed early speed chasing an impressive winner before fading badly, and has been resting up with a very minor hairline fracture since then. She'll be back in training soon, so we'll see if she's actually any good as a 3YO.
