Icecapade

I'm looking at 3X4 mating to Icecapade. Does he throw any unsoundness or temperment problems?

In my experience, it is the opposite. Icecapade lines throw SOUNDNESS and GREAT temperament. You get away from Natalma, who is probably responsible for the unsoundness in the Northern Dancer lines.

I have a wonderful colt who is 3x3 Clever Trick. He is the best of the crop.

Ice Age

We had Ice Age, here in Ca. at Running Luck Ranch and he was one mean son of a gun, but an excellent sire. You would definitely not enter his paddock or get too close to the fence.

The G3 winners Culinary 3x3 (through Wild Again and Ski Champ), Yes He's The Man 4x3 (through Clever Trick and Wild Again), and Off Duty 4x4 (through Clever Trick and Wild Again), are all inbred to Icecapade.

My yearling Milwaukee Brew filly is 2x3 Wild Again. She's tall, correct and kind to handle, but defintely not afraid to assert herself among the baker's dozen she runs with (including colts) even though she was one of the later ones to join the herd.

Keep us informed on how the filly progresses. I'm a big fan of Wild Again blood and also have a now 3yo Milwaukee Brew filly who wants long and turf.

You know Bill, I wish I would have known that one. We were concidering early last year Milwaukee Brew for our mare, and on the True Nicks it only said ONE G3 winner which was Culinary - you described . I wish I would have known those winners before. Do you know anything about them?
Maybe its not too late!

When I hit the inbreeding function (Icecapade) in the database these horse do not pull up (about 37 others do list). They are listed individually in the data base. Any thoughts on why this function is not working correctly?

Could be that no one has added them yet.

Mad Speed, one very good 21st century descendant coming from the Icecapade line.
