POSSE

Postby johnrr88 » Wed Jun 03, 2009 3:24 pm

Friends: Thoughts on this guy in terms of body phenotype and typical foal?

I havent seen him. I own a large bodied, tall but narrow mare (16.2) who could use a sire that adds girth and rear end . I havent read any reviews about Posse's typical foals. He looks like a medium sized sprinter/miler but its just hard to tell from the photos...Mare is Never Out...starting to have success with her 3yo Victory Gallop colt.

I do like her linebreeding with Posse... even though conventional wisdom (ie:Werk etc) wouldnt send her to a Deputy Minister line sire....and , granted, 20 grand is a lot to spend on this mare in this market.
THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS. john

Candy Ride at $12500 might be what you're looking for.

I saw quite a few yearlings from Posse's first crop and what they typically had in common was a strong hip and an air of athleticism. We bred to him last year (the mare is 16.1 and big bodied) and got a leggy filly with a very nice body and a noticably long stride. This is what she looked like at 3 week of age:

I hope that helps. :)

You can't get to Candy Ride ... period, at least not until next season :) Although I highly doubt he will remain at $12,500 for next year.

LB - as always lovely foal!! 8)

I am sure with Posse you will get the girth and rear end you are looking for in a resulting foal. I have a Vibank filly (also by Silver Deputy) who has the typical Silver Deputy body - chunky, chunky and chunky :)

LB Great looking foal.

Now can somebody explain to me in simple, easy to follow, non technical, language how to post a photograph of a foal on line. I am reaaallly technologically challenged and haven't been able to follow the PQ instructions.

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone! Here's another picture when she was almost 2 months old. :)

Worksoplad, I'm incredibly technically challenged myself so I only know how to do it one way (I'm sure there must be others) but here's what I do. First you have to save the picture to an online hosting service. I use www.photobucket.com Once the picture is saved there, if you put your cursor on the pic, a drop down menu appears with options. Highlight the one that offers you an IMG code. Copy it. Then come to PQ and write your message. Paste in the IMG code. When your post appears, the picture should be in it. I hope that helps!
