Does anybody out there know what particular trait this female family possesses that gives it such advantage ?

I believe her grandmother "late date" was champion handicap mare in 1935.

Australian branch of the family have a reputation of being big long Horses.

I wish to linebreed to best in show, via the minnie hauk female family line, so need to breed trait to trait and type to type

Seems that most of the good members of this family have been very well-balanced with a lot of finish and quality. The one flaw that gets repeatedly mentioned is being back at the knee; this seems to apply mostly to the descendants of Sex Appeal, who inherited that trait from her sire Buckpasser.

Sorry, it's been a long time since I looked at this thread. I use "balance" to refer to the whole horse being in proportion to itself; nothing sticks out as overdeveloped or underdeveloped in relation to the rest of the animal.
