best foals

Which one of these stallion will produce a good horse for state bred races?? Racing in NJ, PA, and NY
1) Sweetsouthernsaint
2) Great Notion
3) Wild West
4) Strategic Mission
5) Winning Bid

Im just someone who's trying to get a solid race horse.
Im not looking at mid to high dollar studs, just not in cards at this time.

Of the sires that you have mentioned, I like Sweetsouthernsaint. His 2 year olds ran better than I expected last year. A couple of the sires, such as Great Notion, had real soundness issues as race horses.

... of those you listed, I would have to concur with Liberty and go with Sweetsouthernsaint.

If you are in NJ, why not consider Defrere. He isn't real popular in the sales ring, he hasn't gotten much in the way of mares, however he has proven to be somewhat useful. I bought a mare in foal to him a couple years ago, and although the foal was relatively useless in the sales ring, she was a nice specimen and will probably be a pretty useful runner for her new connections. She caused me to take a little more notice of Defrere... and I gained a little respect for him as well.
