Hmmm, check this very flamboyant Japanese colt who is carrying, Iron Liege (1954) and Ambiopoise (1958).

His name is CHERRY SOMA
http://www.pedigreequery.com/cherry+soma

This pedigree is a reminder of the many talented US-bred horses whose influence still survives elsewhere.

(P.S. Cherry Soma's phenotype is another story that can be enjoyed at The Color Corner section, but at least, take a look:

I found quite interesting information today. St. Leger winner Provoke (1962) was imported to Russia, but he died soon and left just only one foal, a colt named Prognoz.
Prognoz was unraced, due to injury he suffered as a foal - he broke his pastern, but because of his pedigree, he was retired to stud.
I don't know how good or bad sire he was, but thanks to him Provoke still appears in some pedigrees - e.g. this one:
http://www.pedigreequery.com/apartman

Apartman was former top Czech juvenile and also beautiful horse (you can check it - http://blaznovasvetnicka.wz.cz/past/apartman.jpg ), and now, from what I've heard, he has a reputation of very talented hurdler in Great Britain - also you can check his GB career: http://horses.sportinglife.com/Horse_Pr ... 50,00.html

I'm proud of that horse, but I admit I didn't know about Provoke till today.

All descendents of Broad Brush carry Domino through Domino's grandson Colin, a champion in his day but a failure in the stud as he sired only about 60 horses over a long life. Broad Brush's pedigree is filled with obscure horses that simply haven't been popular with commercial breeders: Ack Ack ... Battle Joined ... Armageddon ... Alsab ... Good Goods ... Neddie ... Colin ...

Griff, I've heard of a stallion in Oregon who has Seabiscuit in the 5-gen pedigree. Mixed Pleasure is his name.

I'm not really interested in obtaining or preserving any Seabiscut blood.. He was a hell of a race horse but a complete flop as a sire.

Note that SHOT O' EXERT is also descending from SEABISCUIT, via WINDY SEA.

Neveda Battler male line War Admiral 5th gen. in Storm Tamer.
Nubby Ducks has El Gran Senor as his broodmare sire, and Carry Back damsire in his 4th gen.
Miss Barbara's Heart, how often does Blue Larkspur still show up in the first five generations?

YOUR HOST, the sire of KELSO, won't show up too often.

A few more come to mind. WILL HAYS and MORNING BOB would be on the list. How about AMERICAN CHANCE only had 3 or 4 crops.

Probably the biggest flop was OMAHA, although you'll see him in NIJINKSY as a broodmare sire in the mare line. Without NIJINKSY, OMAHA would have been archived decades ago.

Allegedly, Assault ( http://www.pedigreequery.com/assault )
was “sterile”, but it’s a fact that he sired (at least) two Quarter Horses.
These were BABY FACE RITA ( http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/baby+face+rita )
and POMADA ( http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/pomada )

Provided that he was not 100% percent sterile, I have always wondered if
he really didn’t sire a Thoroughbred at all. Perhaps he sired a Thoroughbred and the result was so weak or ugly that they didn’t registered the product. I wonder….
