Name the most improbable stallion you can find in a 21st. century pedigree.

(For example a very famous horse with only one son, etc.)

The great Domino, who sired only 22 foals, can be found in many pedigrees today.
A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.

Yeah, but you won't find any Domino within say, 8 generations (guessing) in a TB pedigree since 2000. He said recent..

Porterhouse is a stallion that is rather obscure, yet pops up a lot in horses who outrun their pedigrees at a national level.

I believe he sired only a handful of blacktype horses and only one G1 winner, but his daughters' descendants have done big things, even from their modest family roots.

Does Citation still show up often? Speedy Tiffany, For Sale by Owner, and Miss Ydle Dol, all have him in the fourth generation.

I have no special idea about one concrete sire... But what came to my mind immediately: I was a big fan of Tiznow and naturally I care about his foals. When you write down names of his best-known offsprings, and search through their pedigrees... You could find tens of sires you would never expect to see beyond lowest class in some obscure country.
I must say, Tiznow as a sire... I'm not concerned about his success, I'm concerned about the bloodlines he managed to do it with.

But let me pick one horse, who matches perfectly the criteria. How about Gee Whiz - stakes winner with not much more than 10 foals, who appears in pedigree of highly respected gr.1 winner?

Any Thoroughbred carrying UPSET (1917), JAMIE K (1950), or EL GALLO?

Holy Bull is 5x5 sex balanced to Questionnaire. I always wondered about the impact of a double Questionnaire because it was not something I usually see.
Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

El Gran Senor??? You forgot something, didn't ya? What about Toussaud... and if nothing else, her son Empire Maker... ?
Really not a problem to find El Gran Senor in pedigree, I think. :)

Flying Paster has Upset -- Stepinanna (granddam of Hillsdale) is a granddaughter of Upset.

A filly named Desperate Decision (2006) has Jamie K on her dam's side.

aethervox,

Thank you so much for revealing this interesting and valuable data. Jamie K. nearly defeated Native Dancer in the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.

Rough'n Tumble was a great-grandson of Upset... so maybe some horses through his blood?
Probably more interesting, Cartwright hailed from the family of Upset's daughter.

One more suggestion: King Hairan?
http://www.pedigreequery.com/king+hairan

Seems he was pretty good two year old  Today I found him in pedigrees of two former Czech stallions, both Gr.2 winners in the US:
http://www.pedigreequery.com/prince+westport
http://www.pedigreequery.com/big+walt

BTW, Big Walt himself was nice sire, he had some good horses and even two champions. Filly-champion sprinter and colt-champion 2yo, which somehow goes well together with careers of all mentioned stallions.
I know this topic is about 21st century pedigrees, so it's worth mentioning that Big Walt was active at least until 2006.
