TEAMGEIST: http://www.pedigreequery.com/teamgeist

Great to see that she is coming from the good sprinter GOOD TIME, a son of the beautiful imported-in-uterus JERRY HONOR. JERRY HONOR's phenotype looked all white with a distinctive light gray mane and tail.

A San Souci line sire and a Wild Dayrell sire

Postby jjmcgo » Wed Nov 17, 2010 1:48 am

I was researching how many Touchstone sires are still around. I knew Grey Dawn's line that is almost extinct except Acatenango; the Hyperion line that is faded and the Plaudit line that has the Holy Bull branch and only Include from the Broad Brush branch.
But I discovered that there is at least one sire from the line through Heaume/Le Roi Soleil/Sans Souci/ La Farina/Bubbles/Ocarina/Lauso/Precipice Wood/Abergwiffy/Devils Jump.
This colt is Coswarth Lucky Devil (2005) Devils Jump-Lady Mulberry Hill, by Hill Farmer.
When I researched his family, I saw his fourth dam, Ruby Portree, (1955) whose had the sire Union Jack and who had the dame Ruby Pearl.
But there was no further information. I think I know who they are.
Union Jack (GB) 1934, H, by Singapore-Pin Curl, by Junior.
Ruby Pearl (GB) 1940, M, by Invershin-Monksgrange Lady, by Tonton (FR)
I typed in the pedigree and found Union Jack and Ruby Pearl are correct.
Do you know if there any other Sans Souci line stallions?

FYI, that is not the correct Attraction as she is out of a Pursuit of Love daughter. This is the Attraction that won the Guineas double http://www.pedigreequery.com/attraction9

Recent Santa Anita track record setter, the gray colt, THE FACTOR

http://www.pedigreequery.com/the+factor2

is carrying as his third dam, RAIN SHOWER.

RAIN SHOWER's pedigree is carrying many great sires you don't
came across very often. Just take a look:

Glad to see the extraordinary influence of the great Argentinean super sire, ALAN BRECK (Chestnut H 1918), who is the broodmare sire of MIREILLE, fifth dam of ARTIQUE http://www.pedigreequery.com/artique2
In spite the fact that the influence is remote, ALAN BRECK was a one-of-a-kind stallion.

You don't come across very often to a pedigree
who is carrying the name of NATIVE DANCER's near nemesis,
Preakness & Belmont runner up, JAMIE K. Not only does he appears in the following pedigree, but via a son rather that through a daughter.

Take a look at DANCINGROCK STAR:

Hi from OZ,
How about CHEVENING (1897) GB, by ORION (1888) rare son of SHOT OVER, #13C who won the 1882 English Derby, one of the few fillies to have achieved that feat.
CHEVENING #8H, whose dam is Simena (1890) is tail female to WOODBINE
#8C, being the Great, Great, Great Grandaughter.
CHEVENING did not throw a son, capable of continuing the line, yet both Woodbine and Shotover are still going strong.
Woodbine's tail is still wagging with STORM CAT and his sons.
Shot Over's tail is wagging with Mr. Prospector, Seattle Slew etc.
I have only seen CHEVENING in two pedigrees, so he is perhaps the rarest, apart from BESSUM, of which I spoke once before.

Cheers from OZ.

PAN (FR) 1947.

PAN, was exported to Australia, where he performed pretty well, and was a good Broodmare sire as well.

STAKES WINNERS are as Follows:-

ALTI PAN (FR) 1954. 1957 Grand Prix de Paris 3000 mtrs (15 furlongs)

DOUBTLESS (AUS) 1956. 1958 December Stakes 6 furlongs

FASTEST (AUS) 1958. 1962 Princess Handicap 1 Mile

FLORIDA KEYS (AUS) 1958. 1965 Fredrick Clissold Hcp 6 Furlongs

HOME JAMES (AUS) 1959. 1963 Grafton Cup 10 Furlongs

FRENCH EMPIRE (AUS) 1957. 1962 Warrnambool Cup 11 Furlongs

PAN SHAH (AUS) 1958. 1960 Cannonbury Stakes 5 Furlongs

RED ROCK (AUS) 1957. 1963 Canberra Cup 10 Furlongs

VIN ROSE (AUS) 1959. 1961 Fulham Park Plate 4 Furlongs

PAN (FR) 1947 is also the sire of the second dam of MANUAN, a very good sprinter/miler, who is mentioned on Page 10 of "Tesio Master of Matings" by Ken McLean.

Pan, can still be obtained in some pedigrees in Australia, but is getting rarer as time extends.

Cheers from Australia.
