20+ sires that went to another place and became successful sires.
List them.
I know one case: Gray Phantom (Ambiorix--Grey Flight) was over 20 years old when he was exported to PR where he sired several good stakes horses for around 4 years. They did it because many of his sons raced quite well over there, before being imported.
List other cases.

Hallo,
for German Thoroughbredbreeding a claim Dark Ronald. (by bay Ronald)., bred in Ireland, raced in England. Dark Ronald was purchased for Germany in 1913.
Dark Ronald founded in My Homecountry a successful Sireline, including an almost unbroken Line Of German Derby winners and which still exists.
Regards, Bettina

tbrace I think you may be confusing Roar with Roy - Roar did shuttle to Argentina his early years at stud and had some success, but after a few years Haras Biznaga was no longer willing to spend the money to shuttle him. Eventually he went from Lanes End to Rancho San Miguel (CA) on a lease. RSM then purchased Biznaga's interest in Roar, and he stayed at RSM until his death.
Roy was several times the Leading Sire in Chile and his Chilean-breds won graded stakes in Argentina and Brazil as well. Roy's lack of commercial appeal in North America coupled with his huge success in South America ended his shuttling; he remained in Chile.

A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.

Just clarifying a few things in this thread - Sir Tristram entered stud in New Zealand and stayed there. Hussonet entered stud in Chile and was not tried in this country until after he was Leading Sire in Chile (once Messara bought him). Messara now stands him in Australia.
The original subject of the thread was "20 + (year olds) that went another place and became successful sires. List them". I do not know of any.

Sorry, I didn't get that about the age being 20. I thought you were trying to compile a LIST of 20.
What about Whirlaway? He was pretty old when he went to France. I don't know if he did well there.
