Huge day for Bellamy Road

Toby's Corner wins the G1 Wood and Zoebear runs 2nd in the G3 Illinois Derby! Just think how hot BR would be if Position Limit had not been injured...

So another Danzig descendant may be a hot stallion in KY (BR - Concerto - Chief's Crown - Danzig). Consider also that Midnight Interlude is by War Chant, a son of Danzig....War Front hitting it out of the park....Pomeroy (Boundary - Danzig) doing same in Florida, possibly KY next year...funny how stallion lines seem to come in waves.
A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.

We took a winning Langfuhr daughter to a 1/2 brother of War Front (Ecclesiastic) specifically because we figured Ecclesiastic's family probably "likes" Danzig lines. Ironically - the Langfuhr mare is from the family of Pomeroy (although he falls off the Ecclesiastic filly's catalog page). Nice filly, stocky like her Northern Dancer side & a slightly gray page, so she wasn't yearling sale material. We'll probably have to get her to the track ourselves, but here's hoping that War Front's family "likes" Danzig even on the dam's side.

I took my mare Star Nurse, whom is a half sister to the dam of War Front and bred her to Pomeroy.

I like how you think - looking forward to hearing about this one in the future.

And Concerto and BR could not possibly be any different! BR is massive and you could probably hide two Concerto's behind him... It's so NICE to see Chief's Crown's name back in the spotlight. I've really been disappointed that he never really had too many good daughters.

It's also ironic that people kept going to Danzig even though early on many of his sons were not doing as well as expected (Danzig Connection, Polish Navy) but yet they persevered in the hopes they could get the "one" that would turn that around.

If I were not afraid of my mare giving birth to an elephant I would consider BR.

We are very much excited about star and pomeroy. I bought a silver deputy mare named Noshameinmygame and hopefully next year we will breed her to Big Brown or Pomeroy. Shes from the immediate family of Boundary, so I think either will be nice

Then came Danehill.....

Chief's Crown has a good sire of racehorses down under in Beautiful Crown. They're not going to light up the auctions but they run and win.

Green Desert - as important a sire as Danehill.
America isn't the breeding world - time to look up and see whats around.

I mentioned him in the undying Louis thread as being very important to Australian and New Zealand racing. Green Desert and Danehill were very, very different as sires, in that Green Desert predictably threw a high-class middle-distance runner, as have his descendants, whereas Danehill could do anything to a pedigree. Storm Cat was like that, and Street Cry seems to be shaping up to be the same.

If for some reason Darley decides to reverse shuttle Lonhro, you folks in Europe jump all over that.
