the heritage of Ahonoora

Yesterday a GR3 race at Cologne was won by the hot favorite Amico Fritz. He is by one of the last daughters of Ahonoora, so is the before mentioned Leroitheanimaux. The stallion was at the Irish National Stud covering mares at a fee no less than approx. 2000 Ir. Pounds in 1980. He died because of a paddock accident in Australia, where he was covering for The Coolmore Stud. I remember the call in the fall of '89 from an Australian friend who told me the bad news. Such a pitty. Since I was lucky to have a mare form his first crop, I always had a great interest in him.
He was a miracle.
