Anybody breed to Grasshopper this year?

Hi horsey friends,

I've posted on here how much I love the racehorse since recently retired to stud in Texas, Grasshopper.

Have any of you bred to him? I talked to Lane's End Texas and he has already had 40 mares!!!!

Wondering if any of you have, and if so, do you intend on selling the foal?

I LOVE GRASSHOPPER!

I am not big on the over breeding as seen by my posts on here, but he would be the ONLY one I would take my mare to. The thing is, he just had to end up in Texas, and I don't understand that because his sire died unexpectedly (Dixie Union) at a young age. I would think they would want him to replace his sire in Kentucky (where my girl is at)

I got a quote from the horse transport place that Lane's End uses to go back and forth between Lexington and Texas and almost had a heart attack it was so high. Now the gas prices going up and I'm sure it will only go up higher. I would not send her down in anything but a nice, comfortable safe big trailer, since it is quite a long trip.

Looks like I am going to have to get lucky and see if I can buy a Grasshopper foal, or lease a very nice mare that someone had offered a deal on. That foal will have a forever home, and would be treated like gold. Grasshopper had the most determination I've ever seen on a horse. His races are on you tube, check them out.

So, anybody go to Grasshopper?? Thanks!
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......
