He got his first Gr-1 winner today when Dabrisim won the Prix Morny at Deauville.

Fun fact: Hat Trick now has four winners, one each in Mexico, the USA, France, and Russia.

At the moment, Hat Trick (JPN) is sitting at the top of the First Year Sire List, a place that probably few people expected him to be.

I would love to see a son of Sunday Silence make it as a stallion here.

I wouldn't describe myself as unsurprised...but also wouldn't describe myself as surprised, either. He was fast, very fast, fast enough to defeat Bullish Luck on his home turf during his best year, fast enough to defeat Dance in the Mood on her home turf in the Tokyo Mile Championship.

It's worth noting that he is the only Gr-1 winning son of Sunday Silence to start his career outside Japan.

Dabirsim, the son of the Sunday Silence stallion Hat Trick, ended his juvenile season last weekend with an emphatic victory at Longchamp in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-Grand Criterium.

The black colt produced an excellent turn of foot to sweep past his rivals to prove that he's the best French juvenile colt of the season. He'll be put aside until next year.
