I saw him at Pleasanton on the track but couldn't tell you anything from that. He was a very nice horse. On the Derby Trail; got hurt and came back and won the Alamedan. Looks like he had another long rehab with works to July 2011. Not a work since.. Probably went wrong again. He is a Bertrando and most trainers tell me the Bertrando's are in general crooked. But this one could run no doubt..

One of the things that I have noticed with the Bertrando sons
Officer and Stormy Jack is that alot of them are producing small offspring.
My filly by S.J has good confirmation straight and short but in the S J lines not alot of 2 year old runners, maybe because of the height and if they do run at 2 they are usually put on the shelf for latter or got hurt.
I don't know how tall this stallion is and I don't know if he ran at two but I am looking to find a stallion that can breed Precocity.
The Four year old Bertrandos are hard Knocking horses, same with the S.J but the S.J four year olds that start later on, can't run worth anything.
My concern with Sierra is can he produce two year old runners.
I was wondering why this horse didn't continue his career.

In general I don't think there are many 2 year olds that are either physically or mentally prepared to run. This horse ran early. Whether that will equate to precocity only time will tell. Follow the 2 year old stats. But even the most precocious 2 year old sires rarely sire more than 25% winners to foals.. I'll tell you a stallion I really like who is siring some precocious 2 year olds. Don'tsellmeshort..

As far as his career, he likely suffered a major injury. They attempted a return this spring but it looks like they stopped on him again.
