Postby Maureen » Sun Nov 20, 2011 6:22 pm

knew about this for about two weeks now, but just got the official word today that he arrived at his new home last week. Anyone know much about him? Standing for $5k.

He's apparently an impressive looking individual. He sure is a hard knocking race horse, over 50 starts!!

He just got off the plane from England yesterday I believe.

Farm owner is an acquaintance of mine, so I'll be over to see him very soon. The farm is about 10 minutes from my place.

I also like the fact that he has so many starts, ran until he was seven, and NO medication! We need a few 'iron horses' in the mix...not these stallions that retire at three and four, never knowing how they would actually stand up to a few more years of racing!

Our race mare, a sprinter herself, just retired at six this summer, with 34 starts to her credit, having started as a 2 y.o. Might just be a match!

Hey Maureen, will he be standing at Norseridge? Not sure if I mis-heard. I was doing the math the other day and there are three new stallions going to Park Stud with Mr. Sekiguchi being the newest, Gayego and Perfect Soul to Norseridge, Sand Cove will stand at the Evarett's and I believe they have another one as well :?: Plan is Adena's newest acquisition. I had also heard that Hotep might be standing at stud, not sure if this is accurate though.

That's up to TEN new stallions! I think 2012 will be a tough year for some stallion owners, unless there is a great influx of mares :o

Your mare sounds lovely! Can't argue with a mare that has held up for that many starts, best of luck with her :)

I want to start a new topic titled 'where will they all race?' With the influx of new stallions to Ontario, and the ones we already have, how can the industry support them all?

My biggest problem with racing in Ontario, right now, is the lack of support for Fort Erie Racetrack. With the exceptional Ontario Sired/Ontario Bred program, of course the stallion owners are sending their horses up here.

Now, when these resulting foals hit 2 or 3, and are ready to race, even if 50% make it to the races, what happens to the ones that don't like the poly? The way things are going, there will not be a Fort Erie after next season. We've lost another 15 days (or in that area) for the 2012 season.

So if you want to race your Ontario-bred/sired on the dirt, you'll need to ship out of the country, and then what good are all those bonuses?

Fort Erie needs to get some of those lucrative Ontario Sired Allowance/Maiden Special Weight races. Then there will be a place for all of these new stallions' offspring to show what they've got.

The HBPA keeps saying they are fighting for us, but I just can't see that it is going to work out favourably. And the CTHS-the administrator of the TIP program doesn't even have a link to Fort Erie Racetrack on their website! Thoughts, anyone?

MS, Bernard McCormack, is managing his bookings, I believe. But the horse will stand in Hagersville area. The Stallion was a Sprinter abroad.

Gotta like the Sir Ivor and Mill Reef in this guys pedigree. Interesting in that he is by the Gone West - North American sire line

I know of someone in Ky that got burned big time by the guy who bought this horse. He left 6 horses in quarentine for months, racked up a huge bill and didnt pay and abandons them. He then thinks he can buy a stud and a bunch of mares at the sale and no one will notice. Hes a rat
