Weak US dollar vs stallions in Canada

Postby madelyn » Sun Nov 20, 2011 6:51 pm

My, quite a lot of stallions are headed north of the border these days. Could it be that the weak US dollar (hovering around par with the Canadian dollar) has been a factor in stallion owners decisions to send horses up there?

A lot seem to be turf types which are seemingly more popular up there. Don't know why since the further south, the longer the turf season?

That and turf sires have had success with the polytrack. There are strong incentives for breeders and stallion owners in Ontario. The tides are a changin' around here, that's for sure.
