BERING DIES

Postby Patuxet » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:28 am

Bering (GB) (Arctic Tern--Beaune {Fr}, by Lyphard), the 1986 G1 Prix du Jockey-Club hero who closed out his career finishing second to Dancing Brave in the Arc de Triomphe, was euthanized last Friday due to complications from lymphangitis. He was 28 was pensioned in 2009.

He began his stud career in Kentucky, siring French highweight and Classic winner Pennekamp and Gr.1 winners Matiara and Peter Davies.Transplanted to France where he sired Classic winner American Post (GB).

I've always thought he had a particularly interesting pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/bering

Wow, Bering was quite productive until the end!
