White foal, brown ears

Postby HJ » Sat Feb 11, 2012 2:02 pm

Here are links to this unusually marked foal. He traces back to a New Zealand bred mare Perfick by Straight Strike. About ten years ago a similarly marked filly named Legally White was born in NZ, she was by the sire I Conquer a son of Zabeel. Legally White won at her fifth start and raced nine times. In 2008 Zabeel sired a white filly later named The Opera House, a winner and placed five times from nine starts to date.

Is he a medicine hat? Or is he one of those grays who begin the graying process in the womb? His baby picture reminds me a lot of the foal photo of Hansen. He must have been very young when that photo was taken, because he's still very crooked.

He's a dominant white not a grey. The red hairs tend to fall out as they grow older on most DW foals (but not all).
