Can anyone tell me anything about this stallion? Photos?

He seems to have been a useful runner and produced rather durable. He is in my filly's pedigree (http://www.pedigreequery.com/score+to+win) and I would love to learn more about him.

His son, Big Pistol, was a leading stallion in Arkansas breeding for years.

He stood at Rancho Jonata in Buellton, CA for the majority of his stud career after beginning at his birthplace, Hamburg Place (Preston Madden) in Kentucky. He was known as a bad-mannered horse who threw tough, sound middle distance types, much like himself. Never a "flash" stallion he was a good bread and butter type horse for the home breeder who wasnt overly concerned about a challengind temperament.

Interesting! Thanks for the info. Any idea where I might be able to find a photo?

re the picture - the best I can suggest for you is to search youtube under 1976 travers. There is a shitty replay, but he is there in all of his glory for you to see.

ROMEO (Bay H 1973) http://www.pedigreequery.com/romeo

Hmmm, interesting his second place finish in the Travers Stakes.
I confess I was more aware of Gallant Romeo than Romeo but hey, this one was a very good runner! Thanks for bringing up this case.
