Are you sure that Big Brown is not shuttling? He's on the roster on the stallions.com.au site as being at Vinery along with More Than Ready & Congrats.

pretty sure Sandy didn't mention he was going when I talked to her today, but maybe it's a mistake.

That's some list of sires - it seems like it's grown in recent years. I wonder what the longer term effect will be in terms of the mixture of the American blood and Aussie/NZ blood down the road. Certainly there have been some outstanding South Americans to come north but not many from Aus/NZ (the Lohnro experiment is interesting). That might change with the presence of valued sires like Med. d Oro, Tale of the Cat, etc.

And perhaps buyers from down under will better value the American lines in the North American sales? Would love to see some Sir Tristan blood in the North American pool.

foreign markets are for the most part only taking high end stallions or newer stallions for farms with foreign connection. They in otherwords are not interested in regional or B-team stallions. They do look for speed, they are not focused on speed but look for a horse with late closing style speed.
Some horses do seem like an experiement and give them a few years to prove they are worth the shuttle money.

Or some farms own the stallion and the farm and want to maximize the profit before the asset is fully depreciated.

Divine Park is going to Peru, I was wrong on both accounts. Anyone know if anybody from LE is shuttling?

Wonder why the animal rights faction hasn't jumped on year round big books as animal abuse, given the live cover rule?

At what point do you feel a farm should let you know a stallion might be moving out of the US or is it buyer beware? Should they in god conscious let you know?

well, they should let you know but they won't..

And Freudian laws says the moment an under rated stallion moves he will have his best racing year ever.. i.e. Empire Maker..

It depends on the farm and mare support he got before he leaves.. If it was a regional stallion who got 10 or less mares each year, no one really misses him. The minute it is a high end stallion who had monster books and sired good runners you may have some value left. Everyone will (sad face) miss him, and ohh what a shame it is that someone offered a huge chunk of money for him.. None of the share holders are crying when they made 100% ROI...

Maybe if I shuttled my luck would improve.

There is or was someone on this board (I think) who had a signed contract in hand for Victory Gallop, had called the farm who said he was still there and the next day or the next week he was off to quarantine. I think they had been offered Sharp Humor as a replacement.
