Diabolical Ranked #1 First Crop Sire

I was very pleased to discover that regional sire Diabolical (Artax) is currently ranked #1 on the Bloodhorse 2013 First-Crop Sires list.

With two mares in foal to him, this was excellent news.

Any thoughts on his current ranking or sire potential?

Love this horse, love his female family! They should be fast...he's an Artax out of a Dayjur mare.

Half of his foals are starters, and 2 are stakes horses. He's done well with the regional mares he's gotten. I expect he will fit well in New Mexico.

I appreciate your thoughts. I really like his pedigree too, as well as his performances, running style, speed rating and conformation. His yearlings are currently selling extremely well in regional sales.

It feels like we made the right choice for our NM bred program. Time will tell...

Our first Diabolical was foaled Sunday 2/2/14 out of Soulful (Lion Heart x Rich In Love by Seattle Slew). He's a chestnut colt. Photos posted under the Foal Watch forum.
