Pedigree Query

I just received a brochure from Oklahoma Equine, who lost their stallion Prospector's Music this winter. They have purchased a new stallion who stood one year in Australia and has first babies due this year. He is a son of Seeking the Gold named Seeking Greatness. Short successful career, reportedly very fast, presumably retired due to soundness problems. He is out of the dam of Elusive Quality and Rossini, and grandsire of each is Mr. Prospector; making him a 3/4 brother to these two. Also standing is In Case and Concern. Nice addition for Oklahoma stallions, $3000 fee.

For just $9,000 at Keeneland November a couple of years ago.

If you are interested in breeding to the horse I would strongly advise taking a good look at him in real life.

Good grief, I think they added too many zeros on that one. I wouldn't waste my time going to look at that price for a horse with 2 wins and 3rd in the My Friend Russ Stakes (who?) in just 6 starts. I know OK passed the slots but haven't seen anyone falling over themselves to shell out a bunch of money for OK bred race horses yet. The horse bred 5 mares while in California while standing for 4K. What we don't know is how many of the 5 mares belonged to the owner/farm.

He stood over here for $5k and covered 20 mares last season.

I worked with Seeking Greatness. I liked him a lot and took some conformation photos of him when they wanted to advertise him for sale.

I'll post my shots of him. Only bad thing I'll say about him - he was a big time weaver.
